Stepping Up in 2014!

Well I enjoyed it so much last time, that I am already, just 2 months later, signed up and committed to doing the Step Up For MS Challenge for 2014!

I'm actually so excited I started training today!  My rationale being, it should be easier to regain my muscles now, rather than leave them to atrophy until January - when I started training last time! Plus I will be more likely to achieve my goal of shaving 10 minutes, at least, off of my time for this year!

I have downloaded and begun the Couch 2 5km program.  I never in a million years imagined I'd climb stairs or run!  But here I am LOL  The running will be great, not only for my cardio health, but it will also mean I can participate in a few more events that interest me, sometime in the future!  I just have to survive doing it and get better at it first...

It is a good kind of pain.  LOL

It really is a good kind of pain!  :-)

So, if you're called to do so, please go to my new Step UP Participant Page and donate.  Help me get off on the right fundraising foot please! Remember all donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia.  Cash donations are welcome too and I will be able to issue you with a receipt just as soon as I get my receipt book!  Far more savvy than 2013! :-)

I loved seeing the fundraising tally grow and grow last time around I look forward to being humbled, overwhelmed by generosity and feeling the gratitude once again!  It was simply amazing and inspiring!

Bring on the 4th of May 2014!
I will be up that tower in under 20 minutes and I will have $3000 (or more) donation dollars behind me to spur me upward!  These are my goals!

Wish me luck!!!

Looking All Sparkling and New!

Well I'm getting fancy now!!!  :-)

What do you think of my new blog design?

The image and header are the beautiful work of Coralie from Rainbow Farm Photography.  I love that photograph of the sunset over the Indian Ocean!  It makes me drift off to my happy place and dream.

She even created me a custom cover photo for my facebook page for this blog! Click here to see it in the flesh!  I like seeing it all pretty!

So here's the harder bit, because I'm doing some of the work LOL...  Creating Social Media and Contact Buttons for the sidebar... GULP.  But with the help of a tutorial, just about anything can be achieved!

Two for starters...  More to come.

I love that title... It makes me laugh.  :-)

I'm not actually a SPARKLING SUCCESS STORY in my own mind.  But I'm certainly a work in progress.

Yesterday afternoon my gorgeous friend Coralie (Check out her photography webpage!) spotted little old me, sitting there as a testimonial in Leonie Dawson's Amazing Biz and Life Academy newsletter!

I couldn't work out what she was on about at first.  LOL I thought she'd gone nuts! How did I get in there?

Then it clicked...

I remember writing that!!! Waaaaaaay back in January!

I had forgotten all about it.  I saw the request for testimonials, wrote it, lodged it and promptly forgot I'd even done it.

Here is the part that interests me though...  The timing!  (Timing is a concept that is intriguing me lately...  Synchronicity everywhere!)

I have been feeling very lack lustre for the past 2 or 3 weeks.  My health hasn't been so good.  My children's health hasn't been good.  Our sleep, as a consequence has not been good.  Less than nothing has been done around my house - what a sty!  Life has tossed a few hot potatoes in my direction and I've been grappling with those...  And then, as always, my head and heart work overtime on 'things' sometimes and I have felt the need to retreat into my cave and stay there for a while, to hurt, to discover, to heal.  (Yet another blog post to write! I need to make a list!)

I have just been laying low and waiting for the mojo to find me again.

Then Coralie saw the testimonial and I got to read my own words.

Boy, can I kick my own ass back into the 'Sparkle Zone!' or what?

When I wrote that testimonial I was feeling so filled with a colourful life for the first time in years.  I'd found enough get-up-and-go and some wonderful tools to help me, and had a reality check from life that I didn't ignore for the first time.  It was awesome and I really was feeling a buzz through my veins as I found my wings.

But yep, life isn't always easy.  I found my flat spot recently.  And then - timing!  My own words reminding me of how I felt and how I can feel again if I just pull up my saggy socks and get back on the horse!

So, here I am... :-)  The first day of a new week and I'm going to leave that lull I've been having in a flurry of sparkle-dust.

Coming along for the ride?

  • Acquired a rabbit hutch!!!  (No bunnies yet!)

It has been a difficult couple of weeks for me.  The mojo has been low, the learning curve has been in overdrive.  My health has been faltering.  But I feel like I'm getting back on top now... I hope I am! :-)
